Taylor Raynauld Amar & Associates Inc. (TRA&A) is an independent company providing engineering, management and consulting services in the areas of rail vehicle design, acquisition and operation. Our expertise extends to locomotives, passenger and freight cars and transit vehicles. Our core competencies also include specification development, system and structural design and project management.David Taylor, Eng. owner and president, has over thirty years experience in the railway industry, most of it directly related to rail vehicle design and design management. Mr. Taylor worked for CP Rail, British Rail and Bombardier, before establishing TRA&A in 1984. At the former Bombardier Rail and Diesel Products Division, he was Director of Locomotive Design.TRA&A employs a team of engineers and designers with extensive experience in the design and operation of rail vehicles. Most of our employees have worked for many years for companies in the railway manufacturing and operating business. This resource base is augmented, as required, through a network of associations with other consulting companies and independent engineers. Our design office is totally electronic and most of the design work is done in Autocad, latest version.TRA&A has successfully completed many projects for a variety of rail manufacturing and operating companies, and we are very proud of our record of customer satisfaction and repeat business. While most of our work has been in Canada, we have completed many projects for American and international clients.The experience developed in completing these projects enables us to define and implement cost effective solutions for our clients.
- Helped clients specify, acquire and commission new or remanufactured equipment;
- Evaluated the condition of equipment;
- Prepared cost estimates for the repair or remanufacture of equipment;
- Managed re-manufacturing programs;
- Done the detailed design for the remanufacture or repair of locomotives and passenger cars;
- Designed complete passenger car interiors including wheelchair accessible washrooms and galleys;
- Written operating and maintenance manuals;
- Prepared and presented training courses.
